Need advice about cutting off mufflers
Hey guys.
I saw someone do this on YouTube where he just used a grinder to cut the mufflers off and it sounded a lot better. Yes I'm gonna get extra pipe welded to make up for it but I was wondering if it's a bad idea to cut it before I have the pipes ready to be welded on? What I mean is, will that area be affected adversely by the heat? I don't see anything but metal except a strange white box in that area. Anyway, let me know. I need that rumble. I figure it will cost me less, too, if the shop just has to weld on some pipe.
PS: By now you guys must think I'm stupid.

You don't necessarily have to cut them off. If the pipes are in good shape they can be detached.

i'd wait for the pipes to be ready, it's always best to get exhaust gas as far away from the bottom of the car as possible
you'll probably have no issues from heat, especially if it's only for a few days or so, but that's my un-expert opinion as someone who's been running that setup for years
P.S.
i didn't think you were stupid, but then i looked at some pictures of your car and now i do

I ran with a muffler delete for a year or two before putting the mufflers back on to sell the vehicle.
I had no problems, even sitting in traffic it was a-OK!
no perceived exhaust smell or discomfort, nor did I see any adverse issues with the exhaust gasses affect to the undercarriage, diff, axles, and suspension.
what concerned me the most are the axle boots (rubber) and that exhaust fumes would degrade them.
only time would tell but to my first hand experience it was fine.
when you remove the mufflers, you'll notice that the pipes actually bent downwards toward the ground so there isn't a concentration of gases to a certain part of the car.
car sounded wonderful in my opinion!
