Default Rattling Rattles

After 12 months of ownership my celsior is beginning to develop quite a few rattles in the cabin. One developed yesterday that is driving me crazy.

So I'll soon begin hunting them down but before I start, do you guys know any places in the cabin that are common points for rattling?

Mine seems to be located mostly around the dash

One of common problems is the deteriorated cushion materials which is surrounding harnesses. This photo at celsiorip.com shows those cushions.

Thanks. I'll look into it.

There is one annoying me that only makes noise when I hit bums. It sounds like it's right up behind the dash.

Tomorrow I'll get under it

I get a sunroof rattle if I have it all the way closed. If I move it half an inch rearward it goes away.

This is totally not related, but I had a chirping sound(sounding like a cricket) coming from the rear of the car that drove me nuts for a long time. Turned out to be the upper brake light housing rubbing against the rear window.

i've had a similar chirping sound from the steering column for like awhile now, especially when it's colder outside

it can be quiet for a long time, but then just the right bump in the road will set it off

After 10k miles on a long trip, I had my neighbor drive my car while I searched in the back seat. Didn't take long to isolate it.

Her is the one that's giving me a hard time. It's pretty clear in the video.

Sounds like a loose bolt to me but I'm having a hard time finding it.

Inspect exhaust system heat shields..

Also, if rattle under a particular panel or brace. try affixing a large magnet to see if noise stops. It could be a dropped fastener.

Thanks mate. I'd love to try the madnet idea but I can't find where the rattle is coming from.

I have something in the heater ducting that makes a "swish" when I slow to a stop. It sounds like a bag of sand sliding around, but more realistically it could be a heater flap that's broken loose and swinging backwards and forwards.

Doesn't help that all the ducting is virtually inaccessible.
