Default rack and pinion repair

so i have a rack and pinion with a broken transfer tube. its still long enough to reach. i unscrewed the tube and got the broken tube flared end out of the part you screw into the rack. i still need to take 1/4 inch off the line to get rid of a crimp. but my question is if i still have enough line after taking off the crimp and i flare the line correctly will this work? can i just use some kind of aftermarket lines? my current rack is pouring fluid and i really would love to get this line fixed because its in great shape other than the tube. it just broke due to shipping. i see transfer tubes on ebay but non that match the Cardone rack for a 96 that i got. any advice would be greatly appreciated

It should work. As long as it all fits and doesn't rub on something.
