Error code P1349 VVT System Malfunction PLEASE HELP!
I am glad to meet you.
Hey guys,
I get on expression Celsior (Lexus LS400) in UCF21 1999 model year.
Number of revolutions rises during a run and does not work smoothly.
There was not any malfunction in idling 30 minutes, but the warning of the engine system was given after a run.
Exhaust is poor.
After wearing a scanner, I appeared with P1349 VVT signal system 2 (the left bank) in an item of TCCS.
O2 sensor heater abnormality of P0135 (the left bank) comes out elsewhere.(Please ignore P0161 of the image.)
As for the characteristic, P1349 is over the error code every time, and the back side idol does not appear even if I give number ofrevolutions without the LLC air which idled for 30 minutes, and there were not point and this which appear if I run at the time of the idling, but exhaust is stinking after a symptom appeared.
OCV operating range
OCV does not seem to have any problem.
Is it thought that it is caused by what?
I am glad when you can teach even a trifle.

1349 ocv
Hi, I just went thru this last week, I have 227k on my 99LS.. removed both (left - right) OCV's cleaned them out with carb cleaner,
then cleaned out both cylinders they fit into, got them really clean, put it all back together and it runs great, better than it was running..

Answer and thank you very much!
OCV was washed, and did it become smooth?
I washed OCV in Carb Cleaner, but when it's run, the symptom of the engine idles roughly still goes out with a pop rise of P1349.
The one of some Japanese syllabaries don't know the cause, and I'm in trouble.
Would there be other any tried things?

I had no trouble with performance, just the code, and done both of mine.. I didnt drive mine with the light on, just to the house. and cleaned them..
how long did you drive yours with the light on??
and where are you?

Thank you very much for your another answer.
OCV will be washed more carefully.
Engine idles roughly goes out by about 1 kilometer.
I'm in Tokyo in Japan.

these valves are spring loaded, make sure yours have the snap back action.....you might want to check your ECM also..
The ECM commands the CMP solenoid to move the solenoid plunger and spool valve until oil flows from the advance passage. Oil flowing through the CMP actuator assembly from the CMP solenoid advance passage applies pressure to the advance side of the vanes in the CMP actuator assembly. When the camshaft position is retarded, the CMP actuator solenoid valve directs oil to flow into the CMP actuator assembly from the retard passage. The ECM can also command the CMP actuator solenoid valve to stop oil flow from both passages in order to hold the current camshaft position.
[copied from the net..]
NOTE: The variable camshaft timing oil control SOLENOID (is also called the Camshaft Position (CMP) actuator) and OCV.
IF all else fails, seek professional help

Thank you very much for your answer!
Thank you very much for the detailed explanation of OCV and CMP.
Somehow in a spring in OCV, there seems to be cause.
When a spring degrades by the passing years, and it'll be a high fever, it may be the one by which return becomes bad.
Only a spring should be changed, but 、、、.
First OCV will be changed.
When does it probably become all right with this? I'm thinking.
You'll tell me politely and I appreciate.

Do this exact test but with the OCV in the car unplugged from the connector.
If the idle changes or even stalls the motor while you apply voltage/ground to the OCV, then we can say the OCV is good.
Thats saying if there isnt any blockage in the oil system for the OCV. <-- unlikely but possible.
Now if it doesnt change idle, I would start checking wiring or ECU operation to this valve.

All my crazy Lexus issues SOLVED!! (ECU-leaking capacitor).... this helped a lot of troubled people...

Thank you very much for your answer!
It's corrected.
They don't seem to have had that by degradation in a spring.
Anyway OCV is exchanged.

I ordered 15340 OCV on the left,
but 15330 on the right arrived ,,,,,
It seems that it will take more time to fix it.
In the meantime, I will try to clean the OCV filter.

After all, the left side did not come and the one that remained at hand was 15330 on the second hand side, so I ordered 15340 genuine new items.
It will arrive next week.
After exchanging, run the test run and write again.

Anyone have any suggestions for removing a stuck bank 1 OCV on Rx 300? 2001 with 205K miles, so I'm guessing it's gunked up good.
Bank 2 OCV came out easily, but bank 1 is stuck, and I don't want to break it.
Thank you to all for sharing your ideas in this helpful forum.

I returned this Monday until I can run.
After replacing the new genuine OCV, I ran 224km, but the trouble did not appear and it seems he got fixed.
P1349 error code, rough idle, smell exhaust gas, did not come out.
Currently, the cause seems to be a malfunction / breakdown of OCV body.
The spring does not return to normal due to deterioration, advance? , Retardation? It seems that it was biased toward either.
It seemed that the resistance value was moving within the normal range, if it was an operation inspection in the removed state, but it seemed to be moving ...
The OCV filter does not see clogging etc, but it seems to be OK.
Everyone, thank you for lending me wisdom!
I really appreciate it, thank you!
