I have a Lexus LS400 it cranks but wont start I think it's the security system but I'm not 100% sure I'm pretty sure it's not getting fuel I opened both fuel rails and tried to crank it no fuel came out so I pulled the fuel pump out and tested it and it worked then I put it back in the car and it acts like it's got no power to the fuel pump I've tried spraying gas and starting fluid into the intake and the car kind of sputters. it says in the manual if the security system is messed with. the car will not start and you will not be able to open trunk from the switch inside the car. And I have already tried the ignition control module that was not the problem. And the owner before me said the car was running fine and then they shut it off and the car would not crank back up so if anybody has the answer please help

IIRC if the security system is activated it wont crank the starter. But to reset the system you have to unlock the passenger door with key, turn it twice.

I still think it's the fuel pump. how exactly did you check it?

yes I agree it's not the security system for the same reason deanshark stated.

do the leaky ECM cause any problems like this??
