Ps pump and water pump
So I'm ordering them, reusing the ps reservoir. Water pump comes with metal gasket, do I need anything else for it? Also ordering a new timing belt and got the ps pump oring kit. Am I missing anything?

Is that the pump you're ordering? Where is the reservoir? Part of the reservoir mounting bracket appears to still be there. Weird. At least the pump looks OEM. Every aftermarket pump I've seen for the LS400 has been painted black. Absolute garbage. At least with that OEM pump, if it leaks, you can simply rebuild it with an OEM kit. I've alway's had great luck doing that.
Wait, my current pspump is oem....where can I get the rebuild kit? I'd rather do that

That's exactly what I did on my '91. I had never rebuilt a PS pump before.
Used the Lexus kit for it: 04446-30173 for the gaskets, 90363-17017 for the bearing. And checking my old notes (10+ years ago), 90311-17004 is an oil seal, which may have been included in the gasket set.
Working great since then. Really makes me wonder what these professional outfits that are in the business of rebuilding and selling pumps are doing, since the reputation is so bad. I did not paint mine following my rebuild, so they probably beat me on that aspect.
So for me, yes, I'd definitely do it again. But everyone's answer will be different - depends on skills, tools, free time / value of time / whether this would be fun vs. work, and the joy of sticking it to the man vs. suffering at the hands of the incompetent rebuilders. So YMMV.
