Default Brake System Warning Light

Hello,
My 1993 LS400 brake warning light comes on when I use the foot brake. The fluid level and pads are OK ?
Regards,
Glenn

Assuming it's the brake light / tail light indicator that comes on when first touching the brake pedal, and then stays on until you turn the car off ...

That indicates a problem with your brake lights. First check is to see which of the 3 (if any) is not coming on. Hopefully it's just a burned bulb. 3rd brakelight on my '91 has two bulbs, and the indicator will light if one of the two is burned out. And of course, replace both if one is burned out since the other is not far behind.

Similarly, if you had a problem with a tail light, that indicator light would come on the first time you turned your headlights / parking lights on, and the system detected a problem.

Hello,
Re: Brake System Warning Light.
Yes you were spot on, it was a bulb. What confused me was that on my model there is a different indicator light for faulty rear tail light bulbs ?
Thanks again.

Glad it helped.
I think the key clue you gave was that the light came on when you first touched the brake pedal. If you had low fluid or a brake pad sensor tripped, you should get a light that is on when the car is on, period. Or "full stop," as you say over there, and I used to as well. BTW, welcome to the club. My godmother still lives in Cornwall. Seems like a great place.
