Default Front brake tube rubber through hole grommet

The front brake tubes use a rubber grommet where they through-hole the fender well to the rubber flex line to brake caliper.

They stabilize the line and prevent it from abrading with the chassis through hole

These rubber grommets are exposed to exhaust heat and degrade with age.

Mine have disintegrated and am investigating replacement options.

The grommet is not a separate service item, so.purchasing an entire brake line is the only OEM option..and the lines are discontinued.

Considering engineered solutions to the problem.

Anyone with suggests on high quality rubber grommet vendors?

Left side front brake tube on engine compartment side. Badly degraded.

Sorry for the bump, but wondering if OP found a solution for this. I'm in the same boat as well.

Default Located oem brake tube chassis grommets

Toyota P.N. 90480-22210 are available from Toyota in Japan.

Toyota North Americs was unable to sort it out and check with Toyota in Japan, neccessitating ordering from Japan directly.

Replacing old grommets requires disconnecting rubber caliper brake lines (If yours are rust belt..either use a lot of rust penetrate or be prepared to replace lines if they break) and, with some finagling, was able to work the new tubes over the brake line tube fittings without splitting g the inner diameter rubbee sheath.

ToyotaLexus Parts acquired from Japan.... If a Toyota part is not in the North American database, then Toyota North America will not inquire further.

Used Toyota rubber grease to fit a small socket into the hole. As I found out, if you go too large, it will split grommet. But go slightly larger than hole and will help when attempting to fit over brake line nut.

The OEM fit the grommet with the backside of grommet to the wheel well side. I did so here, but reversed this configuration to allow easier slip fit of grommet over brackline tube fittings and because there is less of a compound curve where the tube protrudes through wheel well on tire side. Also did so because the nipple side of grommet was exposed to engine compartment exhaust heat.

New grommet installed. Image from well well side. Passenger side depicted. Next will bleed front brakes

Old part

What size socket did you end up using?
