Default Steering wheel shakes when braking

2000 LS, 176K, bought 2K miles ago, every time I’m in the speed range of 40-70 and I break the steering wheel shakes HARD. What could this be?

Thats a common symptom of warped rotors. You need a brake job.IF all is tight on suspension.IMO,FWIW.

Brake rotors either need to be machined (aka resurfaced) or replaced.

good advice.. I always prefer replacing the rotors and putting ceramic pads on them....
In fact, I just done mine last month...

Check if rotors are warped, if one is replace both and pads. Could also be bushings going out.
