Default Restoring my 95 LS

Hey fellow LS owners,

I would like to share some photos of my restoration process for my 95 LS400. I've been buying parts from ebay and also going to my local salvage yards here in Phoenix, AZ. Ive attached a photo of a armrest i scored next to the old armrest. The previous owner didn't clean or condition the leather but I have acquired some new(salvaged) seats and other interior pieces as well. I'll be posting more pics as the process goes on. My goal is to get this LS back to its former smoothness. Enjoy.

Armrest find at the local salvage yard(sorry for the spotty picture...my camera lens was smashed at the salvage yard)

Hey thanks spuds. I am really enjoying the process. Although I am bummed to see the mangled LSs at the salvage yards. I will post some seat pics today. I always get very excited and forget to get before pics.

I have learned to take before pix, especially when taking something apart for the first time. I can relate to seeing cars in the junk yard. When I see really nice models that have not been wrecked, I always think, "must have been the timing belt, engine or transmission". The previous owners probably didn't have the money to repair them.

Me too. I have to stop myself from acquiring extra items for my cars. My garage is so full it is about to POP and sadly it is not full of cars anymore. It is full of stuff. I have to park them outside and cover them, which can be a pain. That is about to change though. This is the year of the PURGE!

Default Before pic of the crappy interior

Yeah it was pretty bad. Be sure to clean and condition your leather seats and armrest

That is an INCREDIBLE difference! Spot Shot Instant Carpet Stain Remover works brilliantly. Vacuum really good and then spray it on and wipe it off using white rags and/or towels. Doesn’t smell bad either. Your car is looking better and better!

I think people often use the wrong thing on leather seats or they get really, really wet i.e. open sunroof during a downpour.

I've stored this here from the chemical guys website. Good deal and it works great on leather

Default Chemical Guys bristled drill attachment and Stain Extractor

Hey thanka Fit1too. I scored the drill attachment and stain extractor from the local Chemical Guys detail shop. I also found some floor mats i need to clean up. I'll check out Spot Shot as well.

The mat on the right looked like the mat on the left. The drill attachment sure speeds up the process and also saves your elbow grease👍🏽.

Looks like new. I like the mats that came with the LS400, very durable!

I used to love doing that type of thing! It's a rush like no other! Don't have the time or space now.
