A drink was spilt on the console and now the ect light is on all the time. Is that the problem or maybe something else?

My thought FWIW is thats exactly it,cause and effect.I personally would remove it and clean it with something like De-Oxit spray,or replace it.Should be a cheap common part at the junk yards.

Go for the obvious cheap fixes first is the name of the game.

Be sure to let us know the outcome if you go after this repair.
