Did early 1uz engine’s have a Rev Limiter
Hi Guys
So I’m just wondering if any 1uz had a Rev limiter??
I”ve got an 89 model 1uz that won’t Rev over 2600 RPM
In Neutral and Park and just thought it was a bit strange?.
So was wondering if there an issue with my ECU or it’s normal for this model?.
Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Mine was built on 3/1990, and it can rev above that in neutral or park. Rev limiters are more near the top end of what an engine is capable of - say around 6500rpm, so yours seems too low. Is it possible that engine is in limp mode for some reason?

I’ve asked a few mechanics but they are unsure to why it dose it also.
