Default Swapping Sat Nav out for a double din UK LS400 98-2000

I have a 2000 UK LS400 and I'm looking to swap the Sat Nav unit out for a RHD climate control and a double din fascia kit.

I know how to do the wiring to bypass the amp etc.

The issue I have is that it appears none of the RHD climate controls are actually compatible with UK cars. I have an AUDM one which does not work (does, but not fully) and I haven't tried a JDM one yet.

People in the US have done this quite easily - the difference being that US cars appear to have 4 grey connectors that plug into the back of the climate control, whether they came with the Sat Nav or not, whereas UK cars only have 3 connectors. The AUDM control actually came with pigtails - all 4 of them, the wiring matches (in colour, but perhaps not function, finding an AUDM specific wiring diagram is difficult) on the 3 that are in the UK car but I assume the 4th (connector B on wiring diagrams) is causing the issues. I imagine the JDM one will be exactly the same.

I've yet to find someone successfully do this on a UK car and I don't even know if it possible? Can anyone shed any light? I've posted this on the UK forums as well, but there are people like Yamae on here who may know.

Thanks in advance.

A JDM Celsior 98-00 has 4 connectors behind the climate control unit. From left to right, connector H28, H29, H30 and H31 are there.

This might help you some more.
One thing I'd better inform you is that the connector H29 is used for the rear air conditioner. I wonder UK version has it or not.

Thanks for that Yamae.

The UK control unit has 4 female connectors on the rear, the loom only comes with 3 male connectors and is missing H29 as you stated.

This is the rear of the UK climate control that sits behind the sat nav unit.

The rear of the AUDM/USDM/JDM units are the same as the UKDM - 4 female connectors, however, interestingly, the AUDM fascia has controls for rear A/C on it. I wonder if it expects the H29 connector and cannot function without it. The JDM unit does not have specific rear A/C controls and obviously the UKDM does not either.

The question that needs answering is can the JDM climate control unit function without the H29 connector?

Part number for AUDM one is 55900-50250 in case anyone comes across this.

JDM is 55900-50260, without the rear A/C controls, as below. I'll order one later in the week if it's an unknown, someone has to find out.

There are 2 different types of controllers among JDMs. A 98-00 Celsior F package which has a rear AC uses the controller 55902-50170 and uses the connector H29 and the loom to it. On the other hand, non rear AC one (non F package) doesn't have the loom to connect H29 and only 3 looms indicated by yellow arrows are connected as you see below and the controller used is 55902-50180. It does have a male connector H29 behind the panel but nothing is connected here.

Thanks again Yamae, I have ordered a 55902-50180 from Japan.

Hopefully it is in good working condition and works with the car.
