White 1997 LS400
What do you guys think of this one? Looks nicer then mine for sure. I like the color combination. Whats a good price? Looks like a decent price but the issues mentioned are a pain. My sound system works great my A/C blows cold.

I don't think we do that in Canada. When I searched my vehicles VIN the records stopped once the car was taken out of America, even though the car was serviced many times at Lexus Dealers in Canada while the OG owner had it.

Seen this car on autotrader 2 days ago. Dash shows 280,000km +.
Its a sweet color combo white with black interior. Personally I wouldnt pay more than $2000. Id even shoot for $1500-$2000.
Dont know about the radio issue, but the AC issue may be simple and cheap to fix or very expensive.
My AC didnt work when I bought my LS400. After some diagnosis with die by my mechanic, a couple things tightened and shrader valves replaced, $200 later it was fixed and recharged.
This LS400 isnt a bad deal, but id wait for a mint lower km one for $3000-$4000. They come up, but not very often.
Not long ago a 1997 was on Ottawa kijiji, 117,000km 1 owner. Owner told me he sold it for around $3500 sight unseen to someone from London ON over the phone. Thats the kinda LS400 you want
Just decide what you want in your LS400 / what year color condition etc, and wait for it to come up, then you buy it when the right one comes up or close to it. Otherwise you could buy this one, and want the next one that pops up for sale with less km's and a better price etc etc.
Theres always another LS400. Wait for the right one. If this one is it, go for it. But jumping car to car costs money too here, with registration and tax etc.
I wanted an LS400 for years and years till I finally found mine.
Thats just me though, Id wait for the right car.

You have ice water in your veins RelentLex. The color combo is enough to win me over. If I could get it for 1500 I would buy it just to have it. But thanks man puts it in perspective.

Not worth more than $1200 USD to me. I would still want to pay less, because of the high miles and fair condition.
The interior looks like it was originally grey and was dyed black. The door trims have the grey fabric and speaker covers still visible on the bottom, the dash bezel appears to be for a grey interior car, and the headliner and sunvisors are grey and not black. Also, the rear seat is covered in the photo, so it may not be in the best of shape.
The rear bumper also has a massive scratch, and the front bumper has a huge crack in the middle, along with paint issues. These are just cosmetic issues... No idea if the timing belt has been done yet, which would further lower my interest since it has an interference engine.
I would look for another or invest the money in your car instead

Unless you have the money to just buy more and more used cars and try to repair them all, or have the money and time to jump from car to car, id just wait till you find the right car, in great/excellent shape at a good price. they come up, just not often here in canada, but when it comes up (and it will) you can be ready.
Just my humble opinion/advice!

Thanks Celsior. I didn't even notice that. I did notice how BLACK the seats looked and thought it was good but kinda weird. And the trunk tricked me because they are all black. I offered $1500 CDN but no response so now I have no choice but to spend $1500 on mines.

ive been through the rabbit hole of wanting to buy cars just to have them / because the purchase price is cheap. Ive seen several ls400's i was very tempted to buy, including the 117k one i mentioned out of ottawa. But I restrain myself, and use the money to maintain / repair mine if needed. 1 excellent condition ls400 is better than 2 that need repair imo. Even that 117k km one would need stuff, they all do at this age. I just think you may as well find the lowest mileage best condition one you can, because its more worth dumping your money into that one, than one that is in poor shape.
