Default I need help on my 235/50/18 Goodyear eagle sports

I have a 1998 LS with 18" 18x8 wheels with 42mm offset, town fair said the wheels rub the inner fender well. Frankly I don't give a **** and they refuse to put them on for safety reasons, will I have serious sidewall damage from running these tires?!?

How low is the car setting? The 235/50-18 is about 1" diameter larger than the 26.3"-26.7" diameter of stock.

The car has a ton of room in the wheelwell, it's not like it's already slammed from the factory, it seems unlikely to me something that's 2.6% bigger would rub.

Protip: 245\45\18 is the same OD as oem and the go-to replacement size for 18's.

That being said, a +42 offset is quite a bit.

This thread at the bottom someone said they ordered with a 38mm offset and they fit. Wish I knew more about this subject & fitment in general.

Willtheyfit.com. That'll show you how much bigger the wheel/ tire combo will be. Great tool to utilize for this. I forgot about it until today..

Pro tip: Don't go to 'will it fit'. It's 'will they fit'.
