Default 99 ls tilt motor

Time has come, time to fix this.

Is there only one motor needed or are there two? A mechanic mentioned two.

There must be two because my 97 goes up and down but does not telescope. Good luck brother that is going to be a tough one I would imagine.

On my 96, the tilt motor works fine but there is a plastic gear that is stripped. The gear is only 10 bucks or so. I don't have any issues with my telescoping motor, but I'm guessing it could have the same type of gear involved.

They changed the motor in my 99 think for 98 year. It's very different from yours

The issue he's referring to may not be of the same design but the plastic parts, throughout the years, tend to fail before the motor. This is the culprit on 98-00 400's. It's about 4 bucks...

We applied 12v to the motor today and no response. Looks like it's dead

Could be that. Can you hear the motor trying to do something at start-up? Mine is silent after the up down part.
