Alright, I've tried to find a definative answer but I mostly see alot of doubts. I have a 90 ls400 and the front seats are trashed, I was wondering for me and everyone else that wonders if the seats from 90-00 are interchangeable as in atleast bolt up. The wiring issue wouldnt be a problem as I would be able to find diagrams for like power seats or what not, not really for srs or the seat belt indicator. Just wondering if they would bolt up or need slight modifications. There are many 96-00 around me but not alot of 90-94. Sorry to bring up such a old topic
I don't know the exact year, but sometime around 97 or 98 they introduced side airbags into the seats themselves. I know my 98 has them. That may add complexity.
From what I understand pretty much nothing is compatible with LS400 my buddy with a GS300. My buddy with a GS400 and my buddy with an IS300 have all measured and given me their dimensions and none of them match the only one that's close is IS300 but no go
I figure that the actual seat frame does not bolt into the '90-'94 original seat frame bolt holes, but has anyone considered trying to take the seat bottom cushion frame and seat backrest frame off of the '95-'00 Lexus LS400 to see if it is mountable onto the seat rail frame of the '90-'94 LS400?
I have a '92 Previa LE RWD and someone on the Facebook Previa Group posted retrofitted Audi seats in his Previa 5-speed manual on the original Previa seat frame.
From the post, the owner pulled the backrest cushion over the Previa's backrest frame. And for the seat bottom cushion he cut the Audi's seat bottom frame in order to bolt straight onto the original seat rail frame.
Here is the link to the thread (Post #13) that has the 95+ LS400 passenger seat in a '93 LS400 with only 3 bolts lining up with the bolt holes in the '93 LS400's original mounting bolt holes.
