Default Replacement Suspension Questions

Bear with me guys, I'm pretty new to suspension issues. So I had a peek and at some point, my '92 LS400 had the air ride replaced with struts from Strutmasters.com.

Firstly, the front passenger corner is squeaking pretty badly, especially when it's wet and I go over bumps. I can even push down on it and it squeaks. Any ideas?

Secondly, I'd honestly like the ride to be a bit lower, it sits up a bit high for me. What are my options to get it down an inch or an inch and a half? (pic of my car attached)

Thirdly, I'd like to put on some LS430 wheels (like these: https://www.reddit.com/r/Lexus/comme...dated_install/) Are they a direct swap? Or do they need spacers or anything?

Thanks in advance!

OEM struts are lower than what you have now.

^ So I can just swap those on, even though it originally came with air suspension?

Make sure that the shock specifies fitment for the 90-94. The 95+ shocks are longer.

LS430 wheels or other later year Lexus sedan wheels will bolt up fine.

there is something called "preloading the suspension" or "bushing reset" which a lot of folks forget to do with a lot of cars after doing suspension work.

the bushings need to be tightened when the entire suspension is at rest on the pavement, not up in the air.
tightening in the air will keep tension on the bushing.

this will keeping the car stuck at a higher ride height when dropped to the ground, or loaded, and will also prematurely wear out those bushings.

more (for a Subaru but the concept is the same, they call it "droop mode", starting in 4:13):

Ah okay. So it's possible that mine weren't reset when the struts were installed, which could account for the height AND the squeaking (bad bushing) ?

squeaking could be a variety of things altogether as well.
did a shop do the work?

By personal experience I wouldn't go with the "Unity" shocks. I put them on my 93 when I changed from factory air. Mine was opposite of yours, mine sat way to low. Only reason I went with Unity was my wallet was pretty thin at the time. If I knew better I woulda waited and got some "Strut Masters". Ya might want to try resetting the suspension, like timmy0tool said. The struts you have on are probably still be good.
On a side note; Your passenger rear rim is a left side rim, they're directional. That's the biggest thing that bugs me about the 90-92.
