96 LS400, Narrower front calipers for wheel clearance
So i know i am going about this all the wrong way, but this is a budget "build" and nothing that has to go around a track fast. The issue i have is that i already have a set of wheels to go on this car but i had to use a 1" hubcentric bolt on spacer to mount them on the front in order to get caliper to wheel clearance. I would like the wheels to be flush and not stick out like they do with the spacers. Are there any other calipers that will bolt on (or maybe some modification but nothing crazy) that would stick out an inch less than these big 4 piston monsters?
I've seen people install 1st gen calipers off a 90-94 car!
as you already know this would be a super downgrade, but it will enable you to run low disc wheels w/o spacers.
I've decided to put the factory wheels back on it at least for the winter. I may be getting a set of earlier calipers but not sure if i want to go that route just yet. The car drives like total **** with the spacers on the front so i'm definitely not going to try and make things work with the spacers. Anyone want some 1" hubcentric spacers?
