Hi
My 93 ls400 odometer, outside temperature indicator and my backlight for radio and climate control are acting weird, the backlight will turn black and my odometer sometimes turns half black or goes to fahrenheit and comes back to celcius. same as in the outside temperature indicator. I'm just wondering is the signal coming from the ECU ? My car runs fine no engine code. Where should I start looking? Thanks to all for the help.I attached a video how this thing is acting up.
cheers

Those backlights are controlled by the rheostat. What happens when you set it a bit brighter or darker? I worry about the failing rheostat. It sometimes has a resistance glitch when aged.
The ECU for the engine/AT is not controlling the odometer directly. It is controlled by the independent processor/driver in the meter unit. See this post.
