Need referral 2000 LS ECU prob. Headlights come on for no reason
Diagnosed as having ECU problem: some type of short. Headlights come on for no reason and drain battery. I have no repair exp/ skills. Looking for Lexus technician capable and experienced in doing this type of work. I do not want to have a kill switch to fuse panel to turn headlights on/off. Dealer and shops say high chance of ruining some other wires or areas in ECU if they go in to try and repair.

ECU seems like a go-to answer, and I would not be convinced yet unless you can verify how they diagnosed that. Some questions about the situation that will help you and others in troubleshooting:
Does this happen when the engine is running or when it is off, or both?
When the lights come on, does this include tail lights and parking lights too, or just headlights alone?
In what position is the column light switch in when this happens? [OFF, Parking lights, ON, AUTO]
Does the column light switch have any issues?
What type of headlights do you have? [Standard or HID] --> HIDs have additional ballasts
Is your vehicle equipped with Daytime running lights or from a region that has DRLs? [Ex. Canada]
Was your vehicle in a collision before this problem occurred, or has it had any water damage before this problem occurred?
All of this information can help troubleshoot why your car is experiencing these symptoms.

Headlights are controlled by the MPX body computer. I'd simply check the pin #8 of connector C of it to check the voltage. That pin is connected to the headlight relay.
Does it swing when headlights turn ON/OFF?
