Default Thermal barrier between upper and lower intake manifold plenums

Toyota used two piece intake manifolds with steel gasket sandwiched between.

However, said gasket conducts heat from the lower intake manifold section to the upper half.

Applied a thermal barrier to bottom of intake manifold resulting in temperature reduction to top of manifold...
After sprited running, can now more comfortably place my hand on top of intake without burning fingers.

Will post thermal readings in this post:

In an effort to reduce heat transmission further, am now focusing attention on thermal isolation between upper and lower intake sections

Investigation of materials suggests Teflon offers extremely low heat conduction, is suitable in temperature extremes, impervious to most chemicals, will not react with Aluminum and is quite durable.

New OEM Steel intake manifold gasket.

1/32" thick Teflon gasket sheet stock acquired from Hennig Gasket & Seals Company in Chicago.

So have my work "cut out" for me.
