Default Instrument Cluster blew out

Hey,

So, I have a '98 LS400 that has a blown out instrument cluster. My door was left open and had to jump the car, once it was jumped the instrument cluster hasn't come back. Took it to the shop and it's blown. Any recommendations on the best route to get this fixed?

I e-mailed Thelexpert but he doesn't work on '98s, just trying to figure out my options.

Try resetting the processor used in the instrument cluster. All you need to do is to disconnect the battery's negative terminal first and then connect a conductive wire between the removed negative terminal and the positive terminal for 10 minutes. This is to discharge stray electrons short-circuiting the +B line and the chassis. If this is not effective, there may be a damaged circuit caused by the surge.
