For those of you who had read my previous thread posted nearly a year ago, this car went through a lot, an accident (fixed) then immediately after a hood lock malfunction leading to the second picture listed below..... in between all of that this car went through a full suspension rebuild (despite strut rods) I can remember a time wanting to give up on my LS, but I’m glad I stuck it out and drove with a crap hood for nearly a year. Anyways she’s gonna be off to a paint shop soon, can’t decide if I’m gonna match the white or go all black, anyway... for those who encouraged me to fix this here ya go. The accident that started it all... Hood latch malfunction 4 bolts on top, one NUT under weather trim 3 bolts under this piece of exterior trim , it’s held on by 3M, you just have to cut it. Re adjusting the hood Finished product, yes it’s purple........ No adjustments to the hood latch were made, it sealed perfect
sin1uzfe, billydpowe and others, thank you.
Good job Kambam. I think a while ago I might have said it wasn't worth fixing. If I did, "I'm sorry, I was wrong". Looks like it was well worth fixing, for you. If it was me, I woulda gave up a year ago. But that's just my age and disabilities talking now.
Again, Good job.
Well, if ya keep it like that you'll sure be able to find it coming out of the bar after a full night. 🍺 Or you'll never mix it up with another white LS400 in a parking lot and go to the wrong car.
It does look a whole lot better then some of the old pics but I'd say paint it white, as close as you can get to original color.
