Spend a little money there.
Thank you for investing your time. I will not be investing any money into this car, its purely for fun.
I’ll likely throw another trans in it if I can find one cheap.
Otherwise, I hope you guys enjoy what I’m doing with this car (35” MTs all around):

Well, these cars have thick gauge steel skin so that's a plus. Maybe mount a winch on the front as that will help as its not 4WD to get you out of the tough spots. Be ready to spend money on suspension parts however because 35's are going to put so much pressure on every aspect of the drive-train you won't last long out there wheeling. Maybe have a phone # ready for tow truck recovery vehicles that are willing to go off-road to rescue your lexus, unless maybe you plan on leave it out in the wilderness trails or have another way to recover it.

Besides, I wouldn't fuss to much about reverse at this point, just find an anchor point somewhere under the rear bumper and toss a come-a-long in the trunk for when you need to back up.

Yea all good points. Would’ve been nice to fix reverse but not the end of the world. I’m hoping to get one or two fun trips out to the Everglades in this thing and then it’ll probably be toast.

After I’m done playing around with it I’ll likely pull the motor for the short block... planning to turbo the 3uz in my sc430 and the 1uz bottom end will bolt up and take more abuse.
Also the Ls front brakes bolt up and are an improvement over the sc430 brakes.

Hoping to get a bit more work done to the Ls today if the rain from this hurricane let’s up

I've been a member of this forum only a few years ago even though I've owned my LS400 for over 20 years. I have to say Yamae & Yodaone are among the most valuable contributors to this community. Thank you guys.
