Default Weird noise under shifter

This weird click happens everytime I step on the break and I switch from park to a gear, when going from D R N to park it does not click, regular driving it does not click, first glance nothing is broken visibly, not sure how to even take apart that shifter assembly and pull it out... any ideas? Here’s a video

I've never took one apart but I don't believe this is uncommon I believe it is something to do with pressing the brake to activate something that allows you to take the car out of Park in that part of the shifter area inside there. It explains why you don't hear it in gears. Mine does that a little, I never really noticed it and still don't really notice it unless the car is off. Yes I know this a vague response but someone will know better than I do. I think it's fine other than the noise that bugs you but that's just my opinion.

That's normal, don't know what it's called but it releases the shifter

yep it's normal. it's a safety feature so you don't accidentally throw the car into gear w/o stepping on the brake first. it only releases when leaving P, with the ignition on.
this is very common with cars featuring gated shifters with no release button - like 95-00 LS400s . 1st gens have a button on the shifter (but may still have this safety feature, not sure).
