So I searched, I found first gen fuel filter location no problem. What I'm looking is a 2000 LS400 fuel filter location. I've read two different things underneath the car next to the differential, and the second one was remove luggage comparment. Some insight would be nice.

Since today is a good day to ask silly questions, I'm still looking for insight on that fuel filter. 00 LS

The fuel filter for the 2000 LS400 and SC400 is located under the vehicle, on the left side, before the rear axle... Apparently in the same place since 1990...

I lost about 2 gallons of fuel as well before it stopped leaking out. Made a big mess even though I caught most of it in a bucket. I hope it's the only time I experience gasoline in my armpit...

I ended up needing vise grips to get one of the nuts off, even after soaking them in penetrating oil for a few hours. A regular wrench just rounded it off.

I also found out gasoline dissolves latex gloves, making them unsuitable for hand protection and for stopping the fuel leak.

To have as little pressure as possible, try pulling the fuel pump fuse -then start the car and let it run until it dies. Take the gas cap off as well.
