Driveshaft Flexible Coupling Insulator
In preparation for servicing driveshaft, inspected front and rear flexible driveshaft couplers.
Considering age and use, in fair condition, but the rubber, in comparison to new, is hardened, and the rear coupler displays a few minor cracks at inserts.
While the 1999 LS400 front coupler is fully insulated by an Aluminum chassis mounted exhaust insulator, the rear "guibo" is not...perhaps explaining more degradation and, plausibly, why the LS430 driveshaft parts diagram depicts an additional heat shield between the rear flex coupler and exhaust pipe.

Are these parts still super expensive? About 15 years ago they cost something like $150! And no aftermarket supplier offered replacements.
edit: i looked it up, 37511-30020 retails at $375 each now. will that be cash, check or charge?

As example, aftermarket LS400 engine mounts were a complete disaster.
OEM guibo pricing I have seen is $250-275.
