Just got a 1995 LS400 delivered (VIA transport) from Texas from original owner.113,000 miles, he had starting issues so he took the car to a local mechanic who probably never seen a Lexus before, took the ECU out and started messing with it, now the car don;t start, he also disconnected the ECU Immobilizer which was sitting on the passenger floor. he has 3 ECU in the car one was hooked up. Looking for a Lexus mechanic that might know how to figure out which direction to go in Minneapolis area. any help would be great. Thanks guys

You'll have to figure out which is the OG ECU and re-install it and the Immobilizer and go from there. Maybe before that open up the ECU and check the condition of the CAPS and motherboard etc. If they are messed up you may need to re-cap the ECU.

I'd replace all those electrolytic capacitors in the ECU unconditionally, if they were the original Nichicon capacitors with marks PR(M) or PF(M). They are too old to be good. Sometimes it's too late to be damaged by the leaked liquid.
In case those capacitors are already replaced, check the board is not damaged and capacitors are low ESR ones.

Yamae,
thanks for the advice, I already read many horror stories about these ECU acting up on these Lexus models. I already took the ECU out of the car, searching for a reputable ECU repair place now on line. Unless some one can advise me on one that would be appreciated..
Just sold my 2001 GS300 only had 78K miles on it., so I know some things about these Lexus challenges.
