Key and Lock Question
I own a 1997 ls400 that is very dear to me. Unfortunately i made a dumb mistake of losing one of my keys, and i am worried that i possibly left it in the outside door lock and someone stole it. I want to be on the safe side and replace both the ignition first and then the outside door locks to be safe no one steals or enters my car.
My plan is to first replace the ignition lock cylinder with new one that comes with a key. From my understanding this should go smooth as i still have a orginal spare that i can use for now. After that, I want to go about replacing the 2 door cylinders with some used ones from a junker. Then I will get a key cut for those door locks.
Should everything go smooth as I described or may I run into any issues? The ignition and outside door cylinders can be different, I assume, as the outside door locks only work the actuator in order to open and close the doors.
I really would appreciate some reassurance, this is one of the best forums I have used that helped me tremendously in the past with LS400 troubleshooting. Thanks!

Ifs its any consolation these cars arent known for being desirable theft vehicles.

Does anyone know if replacing the current ignition cylinder with a used working cylinder and key from another LS will require any key programming or will it simply be plug and play?
