Some oil leaks can be tricky. My oil filter leaked also when it came loose, I thought the car was done at that point cuz it was leaking so bad, til I saw what it was.
Did you clean it up good after that leak or is that just left over oil drops? If it was cleaned then follow the stream upwards to see what's leaking. Common and typical oil leaks are valve cover gaskets (drips all the way to bottom), cam seals (flows down the front of engine, usually towards the side), crank seal (will drain lower center front of engine, but sprays everywhere when car is running), rear main seal (will leak between engine and trans, noticeable on the bottom of trans pan, and back), and the O-rings on the dip stick tubes. Usually not the oil pans but it's always a possibility.
You just need to look above that leak to find the first dry spot above it then you'll have a much better idea where it's from.
Another thought; Is your "RED" oil light on on the dash? The red light is for the oil pressure which will come on if the Oil Pressure Sensor is leaking, which is in the area of the oil filter. (personal experience)
