K&N vs paper filter
I own a 1995 Lexus LS 400. I am thinking about buying a k&N filter for the air intake. I know that K&N filters give higher air flow but i can see that the filter element on the K&N is smaller then the size of the paper stock replacement. anyone have experence with the swich or anyone who knows if K&N will improve air intake?

try using the search on this website...
im not completely sure but i remember reading about someone saying airflow is increased but that more dirt would get into the engine due to the thinner filter. i think they also said that there would be increased airflow at first but then soon after airflow would actually decrease after getting all the extra dust and junk .

What I did was leave off the front of the air box,and I put the door edge striping around the K&N fliter to take up the space of the removed cover , then I made a bracket to hold the over the radiator air intake on where the front cover of the air box was..................At smog time I put all the stock stuff back together and drive it like that for two days for the computer to adjust,,,,,,,And after smog take it all off..........This way you don't cut up your air box.
