Default LS400 Center HVAC vents

1998 LS400 with Navigation touch screen
I recently replaced my Factory NAV screen with a non/nav HVAC unit. This was because my factory touch screen has been a solid white color for over a year now. In the process of removing the nav unit i pretty much destroyed my NAV center vents. finding a replacement for a 98-2000 ls400 is nearly impossible. Ive looked everywhwere. My question is will a pre 98 center vents fit a 98-00 Ls400? i see dozens of those listed on ebay but i cant find any for the 98-00 cars.

thanks

this is what i am referring to. This is not mine just a stock photo i googled. thanks

As far as I know about Celsiors, the Gen1's air vent is like this below and ducts are shaped more rounded.

you need part# 55660-50050

on 95-97 models the outside temperature and clock were included on that part before they were moved down to be part of the hvac controls so i'm gonna say it won't fit

yea if you don't know to release the 2 clips inside the vents when taking that piece out it'll be a hassle to remove, you pretty much need 3 hands to simultaneously release all the clips at once then it slides right out

Yeah you are 100% correct. i was being super careful and pressed in on those tabs on both side. Even had my son trying to help me remove it. despite all that the flimsy plastic just didnt survive. i guess ill have no option but to try and super glue those plastic pieces together as best i can. thanks for the part number.
