Removed 1999 LS400 headlamp assemblies for a project.

Am interested in learning process for removing the ballast assembly...

Notice the HID high voltage cord enters via a through-hole directly from the ballast into the bottom of HID lamp assembly then routed to the bulb.

It is unclear how the HID ballast cord assembly can be removed due to the size of the bulb socket.

Anyone worked this?

The HID bulb socket is quite large and appears too large to clear the internal reflector assembly....

 

You just have to find the right angle to wiggle it out. I vaguely remember having to wiggle it out and in when I bought new headlight shells years ago. I had to remind the box from the old headlight and place it in the new headlight.
