Default 1993 LS400 - where to buy Fuel Pressure Damper?

Has anyone found a working replacement for the fuel pressure damper in the early LS400s? I've resorted to robbing them off of junked LS400s, but they don't last long as most of them are 25+ years old. I tried one off of Rockauto, but it was actually worse than the broken part on my car. If anyone knows of a replacement that actually works, please let me know.

I just replaced Fuel Pressure Pulsation Damper on my 1994 Lexus LS400 174k - very happy with results - knocking on idle that was annoying the heck out of me is gone! + cured the mysterious fuel leak and smells I was having last 5k.

Denso parts bought from Amayama for right under $65 shipped.
Toyota 23270-50012 - DAMPER ASSY, FUEL PRESSURE PULSATIONm $42.48
Toyota 90430-12026 - BOLT, UNION (FOR FUEL PIPE NO.2) $1
Toyota 23232-41081 - GASKET $1
Shipping $20

22mm wrench, remove rubber hose from PCV valve (be careful my hose was pretty hard - so I heated with heat gun/blow dryer - to ease removal) to provide clearance to remove old unit and spin on new unit with washers in place. Hand torque, then check for leaks after startup.
When removing old - relieve fuel pressure or gas will continue to leak out of rail (I mean alot). I removed the electrical connection at the fuel tank and cranked the engine prior to removing the damper but not until I removed the gas cap did the fuel leak stop.

Wished I'd replaced this many years ago - but Lexus and I could not figure out what the knocking was, then the fuel smells in cabin, then I had to fix when I noticed fuel escaping from top of damper by the screw on top..........

Thanks, guys. Mine's gotten so bad that it makes the engine warble under load.

Does it normally take them several days to approve the order?

Default Radium fuel pressure dampers

Radium offers high quality fuel pressure dampers with a vacuum reference port...

I have not contacted the manufacturer...but will do so....

It appears Radiums design offers improvement over OEM...perhaps a smoother idle or reduced fuel rail noise..

well, let us know what happens. I'd like one that doesn't fail every 10k miles, but maybe it's because mine have been 28 or so years old.

I have placed the same order and it is also pending approval. I have ordered from them before and never had to wait for approval before making a payment....

Yes - my order from Amayama was 'reviewed' for approx 1 week - then they sent me an email with link to pay and then process for shipping - received in about 3 - 4 wks from order date.

Wonderful, Paypal doesn't want to work and it's the only payment type these idiots will accept. Guess it's back to junkyard dampers unless anyone else has another source.

I am with you on that.

Went through the same process only to be shuffled to a PayPal payment portal...

Rock Auto has a good online payment system, but Amayama's sucks.

If they're not going to accept commonly used Visa or Mstercard credit card then why should ClubLexus members do business with them??

It is unfortunate when I have to remind certain vendors that I need to be the customer here.

A Canadian company with a part I wished to purchase tried the same Paypal B.S...so I asked them if they take credit cards at all, which they replied they did for counter purchases.

The Canadian's smug response for using PayPal was because they make it more difficult for the recipient to put in a claim..and more often take the position of the shipper if a dispute arises...hmm..so now I can't just call my bank to make a claim , but have to now battle PayPal who has a business relationship with the vendor...you lose control.
Inquire of Amayama why you can't purchase directly from them because you don't wish to deal with PayPal, and moreover don't have an account.

Post Amayama's reasons for shuffling customers to PayPal.

Unfortunately, they don't have the part (23270-50010) and can only provide the substitute (23270-50012). Does anyone know if this will work?

Same part, 50012 is the superseded part number.
