Default LS460 rims on 99 LS400

New to the forum...Just got my second 1999 LS400, just sold a 2007 LS460 and I have OEM rims kicking around. I bought 20mm adapters to fit the OEM LS460 rims. My question is with the spacers and 18inch (7.5" wide and 32mm offset) rims will I need to either shave the spacers or roll the fenders to avoid rubbing on stock suspension...if there is any. I have not purchased tires for the 18's, thinking of either 235/45/18 or 22550/18.

I have seen one thread about this but would like more input from other users that have done this set up

on paper it should fit fine with minimal rubbing on stock suspension. i say minimal because with 20mm adapters (not spacers since LS460 wheels are 5x120 and LS400 is 5x114.3) the final sizing will be 18x7.5 +12 (where stock is 18x7.5 +32). that's borderline aggressive fitment so it will come down to tires.

since you don't have tires on yet, why not do a test fit to see? take pictures then i will be able to determine what tire sizing will work best to not rub. at this point i would recommend going narrower 225. if it does rub, you can just remove the trim that lines the fender arches to give you a few more mm of clearance.

Thanks for the reply! I failed to mention I have 23/55/18 winter tires that are pretty much brand new. Seems like those would probably rub. The spacers should be coming in on April 14 so I would only be able try fitment then.

I was leaning towards going for 225 but wanted to see if I can get away with 235

I am interested in what lug nuts you end up using for this.
Post pictures and keep us updated please. Good luck!

I’m going to use 12X1.5 mag lug nuts as the adapters have 12X1.5 studs. I know the LS460 use 14X1.5 lugs but I’m hoping I can get away using 12X1.5, if not I will get the adapters machined to accept 14X1.5 studs
As soon as I get the wheels installed I will post pictures!
