1996 LS400 No start No crank
Hey guys I could use another brain to pick here. Bought a ‘96 LS400..random no start no crank which previous owner noticed so he had a new starter in box with receipt sitting in trunk but decided to ditch the car after finding out labor cost. So I did the job..was also getting random misfires. Checked ECU capacitors fried found a good unit out of junkyard. So fresh starter fresh known good ecu. Car runs flawlessly for about a month. Now again I’m getting no start no crank. No clicking no nothing except clock display temporarily shuts off while turning key to crank pos. Checked battery/cables/ground..all good. Starter relay good. Tried tapping on starter with a buddy cranking no luck. Not even a click or anything. No immobilizer issues...no flashing security light. If I let the car sit for hours after a start attempt and come back to it, it will start over and run flawlessly one time...and that’s it. Soon as you shut the car off and attempt restart..nothing.. help me out here!

Sounds like the NSS (Neutral Safety Switch) has a conductivity problem. I'd try to start the engine at the AT's position "N" instead of "P".
