i own a 1991 celsior and i’ve been looking at the depo clear red taillights (the single clear strip in the middle) but it says they only fit US spec models, does anyone have any experience trying to put them on a JP spec ls400? is it a fitment issue or does it have something to do with the laws in japan? i’ll link them below, any help is appreciated.
likely there is a slight variation in the wiring on the japanese models, but to me it should fit. the USDM models might have a side bulb (194 wedge) for a rear side marker as part of DOT regulations. this will not be present in JDM models so just make sure you seal that unused hole.
i had it the other way around on my car: USDM car with JDM clear tails and the JDM tails did not have the side marker i'm talking about.
Interesting note, Timmy. Didn't know the second gen Celsiors didn't have that marker light in the tail lights
USDM LS400s don't have any marker bulbs in them, just the ones for the taillights/brake lights, reverse lights, and signals. OP, I believe they should work as long as the JDM Celsior uses the same sockets. I think I've seen them on Celsiors before.
