Rolls Royce offers a "Starlight" headliner option that consists of a light engine powering ~1,000 fibre optic strands penetrating flush with the surface of the headliner.
I wonder if William Shatner has this in his vehicle. Holes are poked in the headliner at predermined points, the fiber is pushed through from backside and glued in place...then excess is trimmed flush with headliner.
Neat stuff.

Time and labor intensive, but meaningful results.
Would do it in a heartbeat, however moonroof cover would prove impractical for routing and mounting fiber optics....so there would be an unlit square area overhead...unless anyone with an LS400 optioned without moonroof...a rarity in U.S.
Still, it would present interesting overhead interior ambiance lighting in the rear seat area..
