Driveshaft locked, Differential or Trans problem - 92 Ls400
Hello I’ve been looking through the forums recently and I couldn’t find anything for a combination of problems I could be having.
92 Ls400 was having a clunking problem shifting into drive or reverse. I’ve read about changing the mounts which I am going to do and the Giubos.
I started the giubo task and I have everything off but I couldn’t reach one of the bolts so I went and put it in neutral but it feels like the driveshaft is locked. I read in another forum it could be the parking pawl, which I need to put everything back together and check if it rolls in park. That was for a different car altogether so I was wondering if anyone has any ideas or experienced the same.
I have the parking break released, and in neutral. the tires will turn and the other wheel will turn in the opposite way. Once I stop the other wheel all that happens is the driveshaft seems to lock and won’t budge even an inch left or right.
This link also shows the clunk that was happening when I thought i needed to change the giubos.
