Higuma hows the Celsior coming along
Also are you okay....... ?
I live south of him and this earthquake was strong.
Japan's Meteorological Agency measured the initial quake at 8.0 on the Richter scale -- powerful enough to cause significant damage -- and it warned residents of aftershocks. The focus of the first quake was 26 miles below the seabed in the Pacific Ocean near the port of Erimo, about 600 miles north of Tokyo.
A second quake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale jolted Hokkaido about an hour later followed by another measuring 7.0. The first quake struck at 4:50 a.m. local time as most of the population were sleeping.
TSUNAMI WARNING (Tidalwave)
The meteorological agency issued a tsunami warning for the coastal areas in eastern and central Hokkaido and a tsunami alert for the coastal areas in western Hokkaido as well as the northern Japanese prefectures of Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima.
This is crazy a few months back a big one hit south of me now this one was north.

Police said two men fishing by a riverbank at the time of the quake were missing, and added that they might have been swept away by tidal waves.
More than 40,000 people had left their homes in response to the tidal wave threat, Kyodo news agency said, but the warnings were lifted on Friday evening.
==========================
They showed a boat trying to leave the harbor as the tidal wave was coming in and it looked like it was not moving

I was more worried about the 7.0 aftershock........ cause I thought it was going to be bigger then the 8.0 that woke me up. You know that dogs can sense this coming...... I could hear a dog going crazy right before the after shock and hes 5 houses down from me.
