While applying marine grade heat shrink tubing to door and trunk lock control rods to dampen noise, also did so on hood latch release control rod.

While there was noticeable improvement in the noisy door lock/latch control rods, barely noticeable in the hood latch control rod.

Newer models apparently use cables over rods because they are quieter, however rods are more durable.
