Default Toyota Celsior UCF21 air suspension

Hi all,

Just wondering if the UCF21 Toyota celsiors have a function to stiffen up the suspension.

I know there is the high and normal mode switch, but it only stays in the high position up to 30mph or something like that, then automatically lowers to normal. But I don't think it stiffens up in high if driving over that speed.

From what I've read about the earlier models with air suspension. Pressing a TEMS button stiffens up the ride.

I guess they dropped this function from the UCF21's?

Thanks,
Connor.

to my limited knowledge there was never a damping option on the UCF21s like TEMS. only until the UCF31s did the feature exist for shock damping.

I translated my Toyota Celsior user manual and it has this description of the height switch:

Electronically controlled air suspension:

The suspension hardness and vehicle height are automatically switched according to the driving conditions.

Normal driving:

Press the NORM side of the normal drive switch. The indicator light does not turn on. The vehicle height is fixed to "normal".

Rough road driving:

Press the HIGH side of the rough road switch. The indicator light in the meter lights up. The vehicle height switches between "normal" and "high".

Knowledge:
When driving on rough roads, the hardness of the suspension is set to be slightly "harder" than when driving on a normal road. For this reason, it is easier to feel the vibration of the vehicle when driving on rough roads, but this is not a malfunction. When the vehicle speed is 80km / h or more, the vehicle height does not switch to "high".

So it would appear that over 80km/h (50mph) with the switch in high position, the dampening is set to slightly harder but the ride height stays in the normal position and under 50mph both the ride height and dampening increase. I don't really notice much of a difference above 50mph in the dampening.
