120a Alternator Fuse '98 LS400
This is for a 1998 LS400 with 160k miles. I replaced the alternator and when starting the car the engine started but none of the power equipment worked including power steering or windows. I replaced the battery thinking it was the issue but it wasn't. I finally read to replace the 120 AMP Fusable Link for the alternator located in the fuse compartment under the hood. I replaced this fuse and as soon as I connect the battery it shorts and blows almost immediately. I am sure the battery cables are connected correctly. Any ideas?

Sounds like your new alternator's terminal B is short-circuited to the ground. At first I'd distinguish that it's grounded inside of the alternator or outside after removing the thick cable connected to the terminal B.
