Default 96 LS400 Fuel line size

Hey there, my fuel filter is stuck on the fuel line and the fitting is stripped so it looks like I'm going to have to cut part of the fuel line and repair it with new pipe. I was hoping someone here could tell me what the factory diameter is. Thank you in advance!

I think 5/16" works. Please use the proper double flare fittings not a simple compression fitting fuel leaks are very dangerous especially in an enclosed space. Before you do that call a Lexus dealer and find out of they still can get the replacement line, probably not but maybe. Replacing the entire line is the way to go and not super difficult.

the fuel line is like a metric size to be accurate but as LeX2K stated it's probably best to check the dealer to see if a replacement can be ordered. another option is to pull a line from a junked car.

also be sure to use flare nut wrenches on these fittings. if the nut is just rounded, i would just get some vice grips and try to remove it that way as the nut is already rounded - this of course would still necessitate a line change as removing the nut is impossible w/o reflaring the line.

I also agree with getting a new line, if available, cuz of the rust possibility. But if not then maybe try spraying the nuts with PB Blaster or something to try and loosen the rust off a little and using vice grips if needed to get the line off. (If that's still an option)
