Same here.
The front struts on mine are blown.
Mine was idling at 500 in park no a/c. Changed the plugs and cleaned the cap and rotor when I changed the timing belt and water pump. Now I'm idling at 650. Runs much better and mileage has noticeably improved.

Just broke 205k on my 97.

he's talking about the strut rod bushings, not the SHOCKS (no struts on the LS lol)

Default Joining the 240,xxx club

Hello CL, it's been about 3 months since I've been on this side of the forums due to my recent acquisition of a 92 sc300 5 speed. But circling back to the topic, my other auto, (1992 LS400 non-air DWP exterior w/ blue leather) has just rolled 240,000 on the clock. Still running great while averaging 250 to 300 miles per half tank. I know these cars can last much longer than his because I had seen some at local junkyards with 300k+ on the analog clock. Just wanted to share this with the forums. I'm only half way of I wanna reach the 500k+ club. Thanks again to all members of CL for all the support!!

I am right around 192k miles. 20k of which I have put on myself.

asfar as my gas mileage, I get 200- 260 miles on a half tank. On my last tank I averaged 24.7 mpg.

Thanks. I get about 250 if it's combined city and highway driving. 200 average all city and 300 average all highway at half tank. It helps that I put premium from time to time an always shell gas.

I only use 93 octane, usually from a bp or shell and never ever Wawa.
Winter gas mileage is 19-21mpg
summer mileage is 22-26+ mpg

My mother wants me to visit her this weekend for labor day so instead of doing my timing belt like originally planned this weekend my self. I paid a family friend that has a shop.. $350 for labor.. Timing belt, water pump, crank and cam seals, valve cover gaskets, thermostat.. $560 is what his office person wrote down but he changed the price. If i knew it was gonna be that cheap I would have let him do everything. LOL.

car has 199,686 Miles.. This is its first timing belt... I plan on doing the spark plugs, some suspension bushings, and motor mounts next weekend or the weekend after that.. Should change the diff fluid and trans filter as well.

Hopefully this thing gets 25+mpg again on the way to NC. Drove there two months ago.. on an old timing belt interference motor.. would have been disastrous
