223k but that might be it. Car seems to be shutting dow while driving and there are starter issues. on average I put $1,200 a year into the car which is fine but I'm concerned with this new issue that i'll be going down a rabbit hole. My goal was 300K. great car and drives like a dream.
good luck

Default 96 Ls 400 Transmission Issues

Ok hello all i have a 96 ls400 i bout the car about 3 wks ago it wasn't going into reverse or drive after the car warmed up. So i changed the filter and the oil that was in the pan and drove the car for about 2 days and at the end of the second day the car failed to go into drive, i'm glad i was close to home so i made the block in reverse to park the car in the driveway and eventually got a code reader and it gave me two coded a PO500 and a P1600. after researching i think i can reset the ecu and just replace the speed sensor. any advice on how to go about handling this issue

We bought a 98 about a year and a half ago, it had 176,000 miles. I use it for my side job, long mileage delivery runs, and it now has 225,000 miles. Had to put a fuel pump in it the second week we owned it and my wife thought we bought a worn out car……she was…..wrong.

I paid $450 for my 92 ls400 6 years ago, when I got it I replaced the power steering pump,rad,water pump and timing belt. I did the work myself, I also put new tires on it. I have around $1,500 invested, I've owned 37 vehicles and it's the most dependable vehicle I've ever owned. Unfortunately it spent it's life in Canada and it's starting to show the damage road salt does to a vehicle.

123 --> 153k in a little less than 5 years.

Suspension needed replacing as it was clunking so that hasn't been cheap rebuilding half of the suspension. The only ***** in the armor.

But mechanically, in terms of the driveline? No problems. Ever. Never once didn't start or have a check engine light or overheated, I've changed the oils and that's it.
