Everything is going to this aggressive sport thing, not quite what I was looking forward to. No thank you. Looking at that picture I'm really afraid of what those tails may be doing in the back there.

There are significant differences between the 95-97 and the 98-00. Fenders, hood, lights, bumper, grill, taillights, deleted pole antenna, availability of wood wheel and shifter on 98 made standard in 99. Side airbags and vehicle stablitiy control. There are other minor differences.
The most significant is the drivetrain. 98 recieved the vvti engine with many changes and a power increase of 30 horsepower and 30 torque. They also got the 5 speed automatic and changed differentials to the 4 mount Supra style. Final drive dropped from 3.62 to 3.27. Performance changes 95-97 vs 98-00: 0 to 60mph 7 seconds vs 6.3 seconds. 1/4 mile 15.4 seconds @ 90mph vs. 14.8 seconds at 95mph (some have been known to be quicker )

I got a 91, and yes the 430 is perfection on wheels.
I've got friends that, drive new Mercedes etc, and love the way my car drives, and this one was beat on before me which says alot about quality

On that note, my mother drives a '96 LS400 with 118,000 miles (she's owned it since new), and I'll be buying my own LS in about two weeks... It belongs to one of my parents' friends, and they've owned it since new... A black-on-black '91 LS400 with 111,000 on the clock, all options except air suspension (very glad about that), full service history... they said it originally had the built in phone but it was taken out. 'Tis absolutely flawless. Though I'm happy as can be with my '93 Corolla (over 160,000 miles now), it's time for a change...

Looking for LS400
I am looking for a mint 3rd Gen LS400. Up here in Minnesota, traction control and heated seats are mandatory I currently drive a 1992 ES300, Rosequartz on Taupe with 148K. My wife drives a 2000 RX300 AWD, Pearl white on Ivory. 102K. Both cars are in mint condition. Love the Lexus vehicles!
