Default 99 LS 400 Tach/Speedometer

My speedometer and tachometer suddenly stopped working. Is there a quick fix for this?

Thanks

There are two possibilities. One is a mechanical problem which can can be confirmed by a method like this. The other is an electrical problem which requires an extra skill to fix. The mechanical problem is often caused by the aged lubricant used at the needle shaft.

This happens on my 08 ls400, last night BTW and occasionally happened on my 97 sc300 manual. I just hit the dash fairly hard right above the cluster while driving... fixes it every time!

With older anything, the "try hitting it" repair usually fixes it!
Just like with anything tech related: "Did you turn it off and back on?"
