Alternator Help!!!!!! 99 LS400
Okay guys so I知 in need of assistance, I have a 1999 Lexus Ls400 and the other week my alt went out due to the notorious power steering leak no biggie I got to it and put in a new alternator I was excited to get in and drive it so I put on my serpentine belt and noticed it was on the third tick mark so I was aware I値l be needing a new belt soon we値l I got it on and gave it a crank and notice something I致e never seen my belt was wanting to hop off the far left pulley (power steering) so I stoped the car and next following day got a new belt so it was on the first tick and most tight it can go in hopes my belt was just stressed and needed to be replaced so once I put that on it STILL hopped of the pulley after further inspection as to why I found that the alt I installed it a good half inch out of line from the rest of the pulleys and I知 baffled as to why, I put ever bolt / connector right back where it was found I even looked to see if there was a spacer of some sort I missed!? I even went back and checked all part numbers to make sure the part house gave me the right things and sure enough all matched so I知 super confused, I知 going to attach some pictures so you guys can see for yourselves any guidance would be greatly appreciated I知 still learning the ls400 so if I missed something call me out!!
Ps. I had a friend say that I have the bolts in too much but that makes 0 sense to me I thought they should be in all the way and if that痴 the case what keeps the space between the alt and the bracket?

Based on the info provided in the op and the assumption it's the only part you've changed, it's fairly safe to say something is not a match.
Sorry, but you'll have to remove it from the car to inspect and compare. Set them side by side with the pulley facing up and compare the height.
Also, check the castings (holes the mounting studs go through) for any rough material not allowing the part to seat properly or move back all the way.
Finally, don't buy Duralast parts (Autozone) unless you are stranded and it's the ONLY option.

I'd only use a Denso alternator. A new is the best but one remanufactured by Denso is as good as a new.
I wouldn't use non Denso alternators nor remanufactured alternators by non Denso companies. Most of those are not generating enough power at the idling as well as those fail prematurely. Denso's genuine voltage regulators have special secrets inside and those are not opened to other companies.
